1. About this policy

OpusV Tech Group has spent 25 years designing and securing the networks that keep Australia's power and energy sector running, from OT cyber security to network architecture for critical infrastructure operators, including solar farms, utilities, and renewable energy providers.

Because we work close to critical infrastructure, we take data protection seriously, not just as a compliance exercise, but as an extension of the same engineering discipline we apply to the networks we secure.

This policy outlines what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and what rights you have, including when you engage with us online or register for one of our webinars or events.

We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). Where we collect personal information from individuals in the European Union or European Economic Area, we also comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), as set out in Section 9 below.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive information through our website or webinar registration process. If you provide such information to us voluntarily, we will only use it for the specific purpose for which it was given.

3. Why we collect it

We collect personal information for purposes that are reasonably necessary to run our business and to provide you with useful, relevant information about our services. This includes:

• Registering you for a webinar and sending access details and reminders
• Responding to enquiries about our network engineering and cyber security services
• Sending follow-up materials, such as webinar recordings, related resources, or invitations to future events, where you've indicated interest or where we have a lawful basis to do so
• Understanding which topics resonate with our audience, so we can develop more relevant content and services

Most personal information is collected directly from you, for example, when you register for a webinar, submit an enquiry, subscribe to updates, or correspond with our team.

We may also collect limited information automatically through cookies and similar technologies when you visit our website or attend a hosted webinar (see Section 8). Where we use a third-party webinar or event platform to run a session, that platform may collect registration and attendance data on our behalf, in accordance with the terms of our arrangement with them.

We do not purchase or sell contact lists or acquire personal information from third-party data brokers for marketing purposes.

5. Marketing communications

If you register for a webinar or subscribe to our updates, we may use your contact details to send you related marketing communications, such as invitations to future webinars, industry insights, or service updates relevant to network engineering and OT cyber security in the energy sector.

You can opt out of marketing communications at any time by:

• Clicking the unsubscribe link included in any marketing email
• Contacting us directly using the details in Section 12.
• Opting out of marketing communications will not affect transactional communications, such as access details for a webinar you've already registered for.

6. Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes without your consent.

We may share personal information with:

• Service providers who help us operate such as our webinar hosting platform, email and marketing tools, solely for the purpose of delivering our services to you. These providers are only authorised to use your information as needed to perform their function for us.
• Co-hosts or partners for a specific webinar, where we've clearly identified them at the point of registration and you've had the opportunity to review their privacy practices.
• Professional advisers or regulators, where required to meet a legal obligation.
• A new owner, in the event of a business sale, merger, or restructure subject to the same privacy protections outlined in this policy.

Where third-party service providers store or process data outside Australia, we take reasonable steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.

7. Data security and retention

We apply technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information we hold, including access controls, secure storage, and staff awareness of data handling obligations consistent with the security standards we advocate for in our client work.

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purpose it was collected for, or as required by law. Webinar registration data, for example, is generally retained for a limited period to allow for follow-up communications and reporting, after which it is archived or de-identified unless you remain an active subscriber or client contact.

• Your rights - You have the right to access, correct, or request erasure of your personal information; to restrict or object to certain processing; to withdraw consent at any time; and to data portability. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
• International transfer - As an Australian company, information you provide may be transferred to and stored in Australia. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information continues to receive an appropriate level of protection.
• Contact - EU/EEA individuals wishing to exercise these rights can contact us using the details in Section 12.
